It doesn’t matter what branch of the Creative Arts you’re interested in; what matters is that you use your chosen art form to improve your health, especially if you are suffering from grief, depression, anxiety, panic attacks or even illnesses such as fibromyalgia, rheumatoid arthritis or other forms of illness that affect your body and your quality of life.
There are many times in life that each of us have to deal with events and situations and while I realize not everyone reacts to life events or illnesses in the same way or can be distracted in the same way; but there does come a time that you can take the controls and try on your own to create a “Happy Place” and a new mindset for yourself. (Disclaimer: I’m not a doctor and I don’t have any kind of degrees, I only share what works for me).
My chosen saving action for myself is writing. No matter what I’ve done or have tried to do, I’ve always come back to writing. This may also happen for you if painting, drawing, singing, dancing, photography, cooking, music, reading, puzzles, coloring or walking interests you. There are many other of the arts that I haven’t named but the suggestions I give you will be based on writing which is what I use to go to “My Happy Place.”
Use any of your interests to help heal what you are experiencing in life. Now, I’m not telling anyone to stop medications or anything else that a doctor has recommended to you. I’m merely suggesting other forms of distraction.
We are living in such stressful times right now and on the upside of this, we have never had the opportunities that we have now to be and do almost anything you want.
You want to learn to paint? Go to YouTube, Udemy or search Google for painting lessons or classes. You will find both free and courses to pay for but most are priced at reasonable amounts that almost anyone can afford.
Take this approach and search for any form of Creative Arts that you want to learn and work with. Don’t limit yourself to the small list that I gave you above. There are so many things you can learn.
